The Lost Diary of Samuel Pepys nominated for CWA Historical Dagger

We’re delighted to announce that The Lost Diary of Samuel Pepys by Jack Jewers has been longlisted for the Historical Dagger at this year’s Crime Writers Association Awards!

The world-famous Daggers honour the very best in crime writing, and are the biggest awards in genre. We are absolutely thrilled that Jack’s brilliant work has been recognised in this way.

Publisher Christi Daugherty said:

From the first moment I read The Lost Diary Of Samuel Pepys I knew it was something special. Jack’s career as a filmmaker gives him a unique style as a writer – every page crackles with action and he brings the world of the 1660s to life in a way that only the best historical fiction manages. Between the lively setting and the intense action, it’s no wonder that Pepys has been selected for this year’s Historical Dagger longlist.

I couldn’t be more thrilled that The Lost Diary of Samuel Pepys has been longlisted for the Historical Dagger. As a long-time crime reader, I’ve followed the Daggers for years, and to have my own book nominated is, quite frankly, an absolute dream come true.

The 2023 CWA Daggers will take place on 6 July and we can’t wait to let you know how Jack gets on.
