Moonflower Books shortlisted for Independent Publishing Award
We’re absolutely delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Nick Robinson Newcomer Award at this year’s Independent Publishing Awards!
We’re honoured to be recognised alongside five other wonderful independent publishers:
The Independent Publishing Awards are an annual celebration of publishing excellence, recognising independent publishers who are working at the top of their game. The Nick Robinson Newcomer Award in particular celebrates diversity and entrepreneurialism in independent publishing, something very close to our hearts here at Moonflower. Since our founding as a “lockdown project”, we have grown at a rapid rate, publishing carefully-selected titles that the whole team are passionate about and prioritising our brilliant authors in everything we do.
Here’s what the IPA judges had to say about our work:
“Moonflower Books has been publishing books for less than two years, but has already had several successes in competitive fields of genre fiction. Judges liked its very effective publicity work that has secured a lot of broadcast and print coverage, and its collaboration with authors.
Judges said: ‘These are tough markets for small publishers to break into, but Moonflower is already making money and you get the feeling it will grow very quickly.’”
Moonflower Books co-founder, Jack Jewers, said:
“Our membership of, and commitment to, the Independent Publisher’s Guild is hugely important to us. Publishing isn’t an easy landscape to make a name for yourself in, especially if you’re trying to do something a bit different, but we have remained committed to the mission we dedicated ourselves to at launch: to look for the books that fall through the cracks, that are a little bit different and all the more wonderful for it. To be recognised for this work by an organisation that does so much to support independent publishers like us and our fellow nominees is an absolute honour. ”
